What does D&I mean to you?
Diversity is the foundation of our human experience. I see inclusion as the active and sometimes radical practice of revaluing unrecognised factors of diversity with the goal of fostering greater equity.

What’s your passion area in diversity?
As an anthropologist, I have a vocational commitment to expanding our shared understanding of human difference. In industry, I apply that to building tools, products, and platforms that champion diverse experiences to achieve more empathetic and equitable outcomes.

What recent developments should we be celebrating in the diversity debate?
I have been strategic lead for our Day for Meaning initiative which activates
our conscious inclusion philosophy at a global scale. This has prompted inclusive commitments in more than 45 countries.

What is top of mind for 2024?
With 64 national elections taking place this year, societies around the world
are at an important inflection point. The outcomes will provide further definition to the challenges and opportunities that leaders, businesses and advertisers will face when championing inclusivity in their organisations and communications. Also the unforetold impact of AI on society.

Which three words describe you best?
Dreamer, decoder, doer.

Who should be on the next iList?
Afsaneh Parvizi-Wayne, founder of Freda; Theis Anderson, a junior strategist to watch; and Alex Lilly, our co-chair on the TruePride Alliance who tirelessly champions LGBTQIA+ inclusivity.

D&I: MY STORY

At McCann Worldgroup, I champion the commercial application of the human sciences for a more robustly inclusive engagement with the lived experience of all humans, for our teams and clients.

One way is via building sustained, ethnographic communities that focus on diversity dimensions that are often unreachable – from faith and sexual/gender identity to disability and a spectrum of self-identified minorities globally. I am also passionate about contributing to initiatives with industry-wide impact.
